And I Shall Follow

In the dark of the night under a blood red moon
An angry roar is heard through the trees,
A crunching of leaves under heavy footsteps,
The clanking of bottles half full of liquid courage
Igniting men to feel bigger than what they should,
I follow in sadness
Knowing my place is not to interfere,
For this is the time for judgment of a woman
Perhaps quaint in her ways, but deemed different,
I am the angel sent to guide the innocent home to Heaven,
I am the angel sent to gather souls of tragedy,
When the battle is done, and the witch is burned
I shall take away the pain and become a guiding force,
For I light my candle with their torches,
And burn a light brighter than the agonizing memory,
Tonight my fair lady, I shall gather you in my embrace
And pull you to a place of truth and peace,
Tomorrow will bring another day
Another moment when men take an improper role of judge and jury,
They will go off with their misguided hearts
And I shall follow

About this blog...

All poems posted here are written by myself, and I hope the ownership of my work will be respected.

I am 25 years old, and have been writing since I was 8. All poetry is dedicated to the teacher, Miss Charlotte, who first introduced me to this genre of writing.

Challenges

I use several writing prompts, mostly photographic prompts, for my work. Often when I am not consumed by a thought or emotion, I need a little help in writing. I subscribe to two photo blogs as listed further below for prompts. I also take challenges to write about random words on my Twitter. A new challenge I am using is from Deviant Art. I look at the first page of the most popular photography in the last 8 hours and take one to write about.
