Saying Goodbye

Watching you leave
Has got to be the hardest,
The tears brim at my eyes,
As you're slipping away,
I know we are done,
Every memory now
We can no longer share,
You are gone
And yet I am still here,
Your image fades from my mind
But never can it leave my heart,
Each breath I breathe is for you,
Each step I take is in your memory,
Our goodbye was of the forever kind,
Being together in the next life
Isn't the same as together now
